This prestigious institution, Irimpanam High School, which was established in 1939, has played a vital role in empowering the people in and around Thiruvankulam Panchayath.

The founder manager Shri. M.O. Ittoop who had a great vision of uplifting the downtrodden people of Irimpanam had to conflict with a lot of challenges for bringing up this school as the heart-throb of the people of Irimpanam. The foundation stone of this school was laid by Shri Ramavarma, the then educational officer of Kochi State. Started as a preparatory school in 1939, the school has developed into a Vocational Higher Secondary School in 2000.There are about 1200 students and 60 teachers in this school now. Located by the side of the sea port-air port road, the school is accessible to any one. Thousands of people who had left out of this school later got renounced as well known personalities in different walks of life.

The school has great achievements in the field of National level Sports and games and State level Youth festivals. The academic side has been luminous with vibrant colours ever since.  Adding one more feather in its beautiful cap, the school now enters into world wide web.
